You can make two types of claims on your travel insurance policy: an emergency claim and a non-emergency claim. Let’s look at what each means and the relevant Aviva contact details.
An emergency claim refers to a medical emergency. For example, you need to be admitted to hospital or call an ambulance while on holiday. Try to ring this line as soon as you are able to if a medical emergency occurs.
A non-emergency claim can also be medical related - e.g. you have to purchase some medication and need some advice - but it is also the number to ring for non-medical travel claims, such as lost luggage and delayed flights.
All lines, emergency and non-emergency, operate 24 hours of the day, 7 days of the week, including bank holidays.

Is it easy to cancel or renew your Aviva insurance policy? Do you need to contact Aviva to do so? Let’s take a look and how you do it and what contact numbers you need.
Aviva doesn’t want to make it too easy for you to cancel your policy, which is why you can’t cancel it online through your MyAviva account. If you want to cancel your policy, you need to ring Aviva.
Making it even more difficult for you, Aviva only lists the contact details to cancel car and home insurance policies on its website. The numbers are as follows:
We’ve scoured the website and could not find the phone numbers to cancel travel insurance, motorbike insurance etc. If you wish to cancel one of these policies, we suggest you contact the customer service team using the numbers listed in the relevant sections above.
It is much easier to renew your policy than to cancel it (surprise, surprise!). At least 21 days before your policy is due to expire, Aviva will send you your renewal documents.
If you have car or home insurance and do not want to make any changes to your policy, you can renew it online through your MyAviva account by clicking Just Renew. If you want to make changes you will need to contact Aviva:
If you want to renew your travel insurance policy, ring 0800 015 4907.
If you want to renew your breakdown cover, call 0800 404 8344.
For policies not mentioned above, the instructions on how to renew (including the Aviva contact number to ring) should be listed in your renewal documents. Aviva will send you these 21 days before your policy runs out. If you have questions about the renewal process, ring the relevant customer service team on the number listed in the sections above.
As a first point of a call when you have an issue, Aviva asks you to get in touch with the relevant Aviva team before you submit an official complaint.
For example, if you have problems with your home insurance claim, ring the Aviva home insurance team on the number listed above. If you have an issue with the coverage offered by your travel insurance, call the Aviva travel insurance customer service team on the number mentioned above etc. You might find that your issue gets resolved through this channel.
If not, you can make an official complaint online with the Aviva complaints form. To submit the form you will need to include your personal details and your policy details. Try to explain your issue as clearly as possible. You can even attach photographs and/or documents if this will help you. The form will also ask you how you want Aviva to fix what has gone wrong.
When you have filled everything in, press the yellow submit button at the bottom of the page. Aviva will try to resolve your issue in 10 working days (unless it is particularly complex) and will keep you updated on the process.
Are you really happy with your Aviva experience and want to let the insurer know? Fill out Aviva’s Pay us a compliment form and let them know why you are so pleased.

You cannot get a quote for Aviva Temporary car insurance, Classic car insurance or Motorhome and Campervan insurance over the phone: your only option is online. To do this, go to Aviva’s website. On the main page there is a yellow bar at the top of the page with Insurance, Investments, Retirement and Health written in blue. Click Insurance.
A list of Aviva insurance products will appear, click the “View all motor products” option. You will be taken to a new page with all Aviva car insurance options. Click on Temporary car insurance, Classic car insurance or Motorhome and Campervan insurance (whichever one you want a quote for). You will be redirected to a new page that’s dedicated to the type of insurance. Here you will find a yellow button with “Get a quote” written inside. Click this and follow all the instructions to get your quote.
If you have previously received a quote and now would like to view it again (and maybe buy the policy), you do not need to go through the process of getting a new quote. You can access your old one and it will still be valid.
To retrieve an old quote, go to the Aviva main website page. Underneath all the quote buttons mentioned earlier, there are three options: More information, Retrieve a quote and Make a claim. Click the “Retrieve a quote” option and fill in the required details (usually you will just be asked for your name, surname, postcode and date of birth).
Click the Retrieve quote/Find quote yellow button (text varies depending on the policy) and you will be able to see your old quote.
If you have a general question for Aviva and are not a current customer, contact the company on the following number.
Aviva general enquiries A customer agent will answer any policy queries you have 0345 030 7041 *Mon-Fri: 8am-8pm; Sat: 9am-5pm; Sun and Bank Holidays: 10am-4pm
If you find it more convenient to send Aviva a message rather than phoning, you can also reach out on Facebook and Twitter, or even ask the Aviva chatbot. This is a bit different to an online chat as you are not actually engaging with a customer service agent. If your question is fairly general, the bot should be able to give you a satisfactory answer, or at least direct you to where you can find one.
If you are a customer and you don’t fancy calling the Aviva customer service team with your question, you can fill out and submit the online email form. Aviva promises to get back to you within 72 hours (if your question is urgent, it’s probably better to phone).
As well as the insurance policies mentioned above (car, home and travel) Aviva also offers life insurance, pet insurance and health insurance. Let’s have a look at all the Aviva contact numbers you need for these policies.
